Travel to all 50 states before I’m 50.
Yep…you read it right. The fact that I’m even talking about my 50th birthday is really weird. The fact that I have to visit an average of 3.45 states per year in order to meet my goal is a little crazy.
I’m going to do it though. My husband is excited. Not. Don’t get me wrong, he loves hanging out with me and I think he likes to travel. It’s just that he has no desire to see places like Arkansas and Oklahoma and Nebraska. Sorry, if you’re from those states. Actually, if you are from those states…give me a great place to visit, so I can convince him.
I love being an American (even with all of this election ridiculousness) and what is more American than stepping foot in each of the American states. There is so much out there. My second favorite subject to teach was always Social Studies. In 5th grade the students learned US History from Early Explorers to Colonial America to The American Revolution. And so began my obsession with loving all things red, white and blue. Ask anyone who used to teach with me. They will probably roll their eyes. If you ask any of my former 5th grade students what song I played over and over…I bet they could tell you. Hopefully with a smile, but most likely with another eye roll. If you really want to know, just push play:
If you did the math earlier, an average of 3.45 comes from the fact that I have about 11 years until my 50th AND I’ve only been to 12 states.
- Washington
- California
- Nevada
- Oregon
- Idaho
- Florida
- Hawaii
- Virginia
- Texas
- Mississippi
- Alabama
- Louisiana
So as you can see, I have many more places to be.
Adventure awaits…
Angie, contact me about New England and New Mexico. You could easily visit most of New England in one trip. New Mexico has the most amazing event in October called the International Balloon Fiesta. You could bundle in Arizona and the Grand Canyon in that trip.
